Hindu Rashtra vs Khalistan

Some people on my timeline have asked me, if I oppose Khalistan, why don’t I oppose the concept of Hindu Rashtra?

Why don’t I?

My answer may seem biased, but right now, this is the only answer I have got.

Hindu Rashtra does not mean creating a separate country. The borderlines are not going to be redrawn. It is just about recognizing the Hindu identity of the country. It doesn’t mean people of other religions will be second-class citizens.

In fact, various political parties, due to the advantages of minority politics, have been treating the Hindus of India as second-class citizens for decades, and the concept of a Hindu Rashtra is mostly a blowback.

Example: Christians control their churches. Muslims control their mosques. Sikhs control their gurudwaras. The government controls the Hindu temples.

The money collected from the temples is often used to support causes of people from other religions. Hindus are not allowed to use the money from their own temples. Have you seen this happening in another country?

So, the concept of Hindu Rashtra, personally to me, stands for not considering Hindus second-class citizens, and treating the society and the citizens (from all religions) equally.

I don’t see a Hindu Rashtra any different from the present India. This is my understanding.

Now Khalistan.

Khalistan is an extremist concept. It is used by divisive forces to divide the country and its people.

It is a Pakistani conspiracy. It is a part of their “bleeding India with thousand cuts” doctrine.

That’s why you see Khalistani separatists and Kashmiri separatists often sharing the same platforms and even helping each other carrying out terror activities. In America and UK they don’t even hide that they are getting support from the ISI.

I have a particular dislike for bullies and I find Khalistanis loathsome bullies. Why do I consider Khalistanis bullies?

Unspeakable atrocities happen on the Sikhs of Pakistan and Afghanistan. They have been practically wiped out. Even recently the Indian government helped Afghanistani Sikhs bring Guru Granth Sahib to India because gurdwaras in Afghanistan are being desecrated and destroyed.

The daughter of the granthi of a prominent gurudwara in Pakistan was abducted and married to a Muslim and the police didn’t interfere.

Such horrific incidents occur on daily basis. If these Khalistanis are such soormas, why don’t they fight for the rights of their Sikh brothers and sisters in Pakistan and Afghanistan? Have you ever seen them speaking against these atrocities or at least raising the issue on public forums? Never.

They show all the bravado against India in general and Hindus in particular because they know that they are not going to face a harsh retaliation. Typically bully behavior.

Why don’t they speak up for their brothers and sisters in Pakistan and Afghanistan? Two reasons:

1. They are too chicken. Can only go after a soft target like India.

2. They are working in collusion with their Pakistani masters and hence, cannot speak up against them.

I would have taken Khalistanis seriously if:

1. They had taken initiative to help Sikhs in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

2. They had demanded the areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan to be included in Khalistan.

Until they do that, they are no more than goons to me.

Here is the difference between a common Indian and a Khalistani:

My wife and I were watching news and they showed a few Indians in San Francisco waving the Indian flag and dancing in front of the Indian Embassy, in response to a recent attack on the embassy by Khalistanis.

I said to my wife, “Just as the Khalistanis trampled the Indian flag under their feet, it would be satisfying to watch Indians trampling the Khalistani flag under their feet.”

“They won’t,” my wife said. “The Khalistani flag has Nishan Saab on it.”

This is why I don’t have any problem with the concept of a Hindu Rashtra.
