During these discussions, I have felt that the perpetrators – whether things are in their control or not – become the main focus, and we tend to forget about their victims. What about the rights of their victims? Just as we try to understand the compulsions of perpetrators, I think we should also understand the need to protect those who can fall prey to such tendencies, whether they are diseases or otherwise.

For example, I’m going somewhere, and a person attacks me because he cannot control himself. He kills me or amputates me or rapes me. Is it my fault that he is in such a state of mind?

I don’t care much about being politically correct. Things are just right or wrong and yes, sometimes there are grey areas in this is why we write, don’t we?
